Who we are
We build custom optimization, simulation and AI models for manufacturing and energy. With them, your team decides better and does more with the resources it already has.
We are eight, seven with a master's or PhD. We started in 2020, in Garopaba (SC, Brazil), and we have worked with companies like Embraer, Tramontina, Klabin, Galp and UPS.
That more people make decisions based on data. And that technology reaches companies in a conscious and collaborative way, serving the people who work in them and a better operation.
Do you know where the name Mip Wise comes from? It is made of two English words.
The first word comes from an acronym, M I P, inspired by a very powerful modeling technique for solving practical optimization problems: Mixed Integer Programming.
Today, Mip has another meaning for us too: making intelligence prevalent. That is, making intelligence, human and artificial, more present in the decisions companies make.
The second word, Wise, is there to remind us that wisdom matters. Human experience plays a central role in decision-making, even more so when decisions affect people's lives.

That is our name, and it is also our mission.
We act with ethics and transparency. We do what we promise, and that is how we take care of the trust of our team and our clients.

Mip Wise was founded by Aster Santana to empower people to support real-world decision-making more efficiently and effectively.
From the start, Aster's vision was to build a sustainable community of open-minded professionals and an environment where they could grow, in their careers and beyond.
From there would come well-prepared professionals and methods to bring advanced technologies to more companies, technologies that usually stay in academia (not always in a practical form) or with large consultancies and software vendors, at high cost.
The Mip Wise organization, formerly called Convexwise, was officially founded in August 2020 in Garopaba, Santa Catarina, Aster's hometown. The website was officially launched in May 2022.
At that time, the team already brought experience with decision problems in academia, consulting and software. Mip Wise also already had training programs and a platform for building apps, designed to help people develop their analytical skills.
Since day one, our main activities have been solving challenging practical problems and teaching others to get more out of advanced data analysis.
Today, with more companies looking for custom solutions to decide in a more systematic and scientific way, Mip Wise grows organically, with the support of our clients and our community.
We believe it is possible to build a mission-driven organization that balances purpose and profit. That is the vision we follow, building Mip Wise to leave a legacy.
